Stay well with... traditional Chinese medicine wisdom.
The Gold Coast climate is pretty moderate, but ignore our seasonal changes and you may be left feeling a little under the weather.
My first simple tip that I know will help you to thrive in these cooler months is to keep warm. Notice how you feel. Having a jumper on hand is one of the simplest ways to help you avoid getting a seasonal flu. Covering your lower back and abdomen can protect your kidneys from developing a painful chill. Wearing shoes can stop the cold travelling up your legs and into your body. And a scarf is the perfect way to protect the back of your neck from getting those cold wind sniffles.
Secondly, eat more warm, nourishing food. In the winter months we need to keep our bodies warm and the digestive fire burning. We do this by consuming more warm, nourishing food, soups, stews and broths, which I bet is exactly what you crave. Your body knows best.
Lastly, do a little less. The days are shorter reminding us to do a little less. The bear hibernates to return fresh and new. Pulling back a little now can allow your energy to build and revitalise so you're ready to jump into spring.
