|Cesarean scars respond really well to acupuncture and moxa treatment|
Why? Because it helps flow oxygen and blood to the area, moving the stagnation to create new healing of the tissues and muscles. When the muscles knit back together it can often make scar tissue and this is where some of your pain or numbness can be coming from. Acupuncture and moxa will help clear and renew this.
We will teach you how to apply Moxa to yourself, to move the stagnation and you can do this at home. It's safe, easy and feels delightful. Plus, it doesn't take long at all.
The benefits of a cesarean scar healing well are enormous, especially if you want to give birth vaginally to more babies, plus general quality of life to exercise and be pain free.
The key is to start early with your treatments after your cesarean to really support those muscles to heal well. A big tip would also be, do not lift heavy objects or rush back to full on exercise after your baby is born. It's in these first 6 weeks that you could easily tear the knitting of your muscles.
Those of you with old cesarean scars will benefit too, even if it's years down the track and you still get twinges, numbness or pain along your cesarean scar, acupuncture and moxa will be very effective to soothe this.
My cesarean scar healed well along the skin but I had a painful twinge on one end of the scar when I exercised, plus the skin around it just felt numb and fuzzy to touch and on palpation it was tender and tight. So being an Acupuncturist I set upon it with my needles and moxa. The results were impressive as the painful twinge diminished and after five treatments the numb skin had feeling and the tightness felt less. I've since had a VBAC with no problem to the scar.
The body always wants to heal and the acupuncture just helps facilitate this process.
