Studio Qi

Studio Qi was created by husband and wife team Brad and Tabitha Fennell in 2000.
With both of us discovering Acupuncture from our own unique experiences, we found we had a vision to authentically deliver Acupuncture and change lives.
When designing what it was we wanted to achieve, we looked at one of the foundational ideas in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); that of Qi. Pronounced ‘chee’, it roughly translates to ‘energy’. Qi really is its own concept, it communicates how you feel both physically and emotionally and how your energy is. So we thought ‘a studio of energy’ and now Studio Qi continues to evolve as a clinic focused on following, unfolding and discovering the best ways to work with you.
As Studio Qi evolved we began to treat a large array of issues and developed a unique system we call Acufacilitation. This is a technique that you will find nowhere else that incorporates theories and practices of Acupuncture with a philosophical understanding of living in harmony with nature, including your nature. It’s more than just needles.
Everything you receive at Studio Qi is based in Acupuncture techniques, philosophies and ideas. Acupuncture is our life, we are specialists in Acupuncture care and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Brad Fennell – Acupuncturist and Business Owner

Growing up with a passion for the outdoors, nature and rock climbing, I arrived back in Australia injured from 12 months of world climbing. This led me to Acupuncture and changed my life forever. The experience was profound, physically and emotionally, resulting in a greater sense of health and wellbeing and lead me to follow my passion and dream to study Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Practicing Tui Na oriental massage in 1998, I became a fully qualified Acupuncturist in 2000. Obtaining a Bachelor in Health Science in Acupuncture, my wife Tabitha and I created Studio Qi, committed to bring the best in complementary health care. I now combine Acupuncture practice with the development of Acufacilitation; using underlying Acupuncture philosophies to create a unique facilitation style.
I juggle a busy practice with writing, blogging, public and corporate speaking and my greatest passion; time spent with my family.

Tabitha Fennell – Acupuncturist and Business Owner

I began receiving Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine at the age of ten. When my sister experienced puberty onset asthma, my Mum (who was a chronic asthmatic) decided to research to find a different approach. Discovering a local Acupuncturist, my sister’s symptoms soon disappeared with a course of Acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) dietary changes and prescribed vitamins and herbal formulas. This then lead to the whole family receiving Acupuncture care.
My love and belief in Acupuncture and how it effectively heals the body was deeply ingrained within me and lead me to study and complete an Acupuncture degree at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in 1997.
Acupuncture has shaped the person I am today! I am wildly passionate about women’s health: PMT, fertility, pregnancy, child birth, babies and beyond. Discovering acupuncture at a young age has given me firsthand experienced the support Acupuncture brings to the body, facilitating physical and emotional balance.
Being a busy mother (of two boys), wife and practitioner, I understand the role that TCM plays in supporting the hectic lifestyles that modern life demands.
