Facial Diagnosis for the Liver

The Liver Qi is seen in the whites of the eyes (the Sclera), so if there is redness or veins there the Liver Qi is being effected.

Signs of Liver Qi stagnation are: quick to anger, feeling agitated at the world or little things annoy you, sighing alot, pms, period pain, headaches or migrains behind the eyes plus tight muscles of the neck and shoulders.

Things you can do to help liver qi stagnation:  Increase your water to 1.5 liters a day and come off any foods that heat us up internally, this will help soothe the liver and promote it's health and Qi levels. Heating foods and drinks in Chinese food therapy are: excess coffee, alcohol, refined sugars, chilli, pepper and hot curries.

For the liver to have good health it needs:  Good regular cardiovascular activity to move its Qi which will give you more energy and vitality. We can feel quite sluggish when our Liver Qi is stagnate, so exercise should make you feel better, meditation, time out to relax and yoga.

Work on what and who is annoying or stressing you in life, this is usually a big component of Liver Qi stagnation.

A question to ask yourself would be:  What are you doing in life that is not serving you any more, what do you need to drop and is there anyone you need to remove from your life?

Best, Tabitha
